Winds of change
Yes, it's another new beginning. I figured I'd get it out there and make sure nobody took that nice URL away from me. I'll put up a post about significant NFL news every once and a while in the mean time, but don't expect regular updates until sometime in July... unless I get caught up and starting throwing things up repeatedly. We'll see. I'll announce it on "The Pistons" when the time is coming.
But enough about that. To start, I'm going to explain the title of the blog, for those unfamiliar. This song's been burned into my memory for a long time, so I thought it was fitting to take from it.
"Gridiron Heroes"
The Victory Song of the Detroit Lions
(Verse)
Hail the colors Blue and Silver let them wave.
Sing their song and cheer the Gridiron Heroes brave,
Fighting for fame, winning the game,
Dashing to victory as they go.
(Chorus)
Forward down the field,
A charging team that will not yield.
And when the Blue and Silver wave,
Stand and cheer the brave.
Rah, Rah, Rah.
Go hard, win the game.
With honor you will keep your fame.
Down the field and gain,
A Lion victory!
GO LIONS!
Taken from the official site, but I thought I'd post them here for effect. It might've been more fitting to call it "Gridiron Heroes", but the song generally started with the line I picked when I was hearing it. It reminds me of being a kid and watching a certain fantastic running back who wore #20 run the pigskin up and down the turf at the Silverdome. That's not to say I'm going to slam a pile of childhood memories on you, though I can think of some good ones. Like when I went to the game (November 7th) that the Lions beat the Bucs 23-0 where he ran up a ton of yards in 1993... when I was at the age of seven. I just thought it'd be nice to name the blog as such.
I know the June 1 cuts were recently made, but the next post I do will talk about that. Since this is the first post, I want it to be a special occasion, free of any "dated" news... unlike the start of the other blog.
